The Board of Commissioners
The role of the Board is to govern the Whidbey Island Public Hospital District on behalf of the Citizens of Whidbey Island (the owners). They represent the citizens and serve as a bridge between the citizens and district administration, so that the citizen's needs and concerns are clearly identified and articulated.
It is their commitment that they will govern with an emphasis on vision, encouragement of diversity, strategic leadership, clear distinction of Board and CEO roles, and collective rather than individual decisions. Their focus will always be on the future rather than the past or present and they will always be proactive in their approach to problem solving.
If you would like further information about the Board's Mission, Governance Policies, or the individual District Board Member's Code of Ethics, contact Mary Awe, Whidbey General Hospital Administrative Secretary, at 360.678.7656 ext. 4001 or 360.321.7656 ext. 4001.
