Commissioner, District 1
South Whidbey

A Langley resident, Ms. Schoenknecht has a keen interest in the health care field. Her career as a registered nurse spans twenty-six years. Her commitment to community service is evidenced by her membership on the Community Health Advisory Board, and her past volunteer experience with the South Whidbey School District. A desire to be a "philanthropist" with her volunteer time led her to seek the position of hospital commissioner. As a member of the Community Health Advisory Board of island County, Ms. Schoenknecht is a proponent of community-based health prevention activities and supports collaboration between the hospital and other local health care providers. "I've met some wonderful employees at Whidbey General and I am impressed with the hospital's scope of services." Her medical interests also extend to bioethics, hospice, and home health care.
