Kristy Miller

As your Whidbey General Hospital District #5 Commissioner, I am continually assessing community healthcare needs and responding as appropriate to ensure greater access to care for all Whidbey Island residents. I have been intimately involved in physician recruitment and the writing and development of multi-year business plans to ensure the hospital's financial viability. As a Hospital Finance Committee member I monitor financial performance and essential key indicators to industry health.
During my tenure, the Hospital District implemented our "Patients First" Philosophy where patients are treated as unique individuals with differing needs, thereby demystifying the health care experience. We also envisioned and constructed the new Whidbey General North Healthcare
Services Building and Sleep Disorders Center.
I am a member of The Community Health Advisory Board ("CHAB"), Environmental Health Assessment Team ("EHAT"), The Daughters of the Pioneers of Washington, and have been an Insurance Agent for over 25 years. I was born and raised in Oak Harbor. My family has been on Whidbey Island since the 1850's. I live on North Whidbey Island with my husband, a Fire Fighter and our two sons.
Thanks for the opportunity to serve you for the past 9 years, I look forward to the many challenges ahead.
