Acute Care (Medical/Surgery Unit)
The Medical/Surgical Unit is staffed 24 hours a day with an all-licensed staff of Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs). Many of the registered nurses are certified by the American Nurses Association for their expertise in medical-surgical nursing. The unit is equipped with a state-of-the-art telemetry monitoring system for cardiac patients. Nurses are equipped with a wide variety of skills, and routinely care for medical, surgical, and pediatric patients. The expert nursing care includes assessment and technical skills, emotional support, and teaching. A registered nurse coordinates the plan of care for each patient, and works as a team with many other disciplines including pharmacy, physical therapy, social services and discharge planning.
