Grant Programs
The mission of the Whidbey General Hospital Foundation is to support Whidbey General Hospital and community health endeavors through public awareness and the development and management of charitable resources. Donor gifts and grant writing support this mission by making the Foundation grant programs described below possible. These programs result in thousands of dollars in awards annually. See the “Services Supported by the Foundation” page on this website to see the range and variety of equipment, patient care upgrades and programs the grants have made possible.
Grants to Whidbey General Hospital
The Foundation Board of Directors considers funding requests for unrestricted funding requests from hospital departments five times per year. (January, March, July, September and November) Requests for funds for funds restricted by donors for a specific department or a specific item, may be accessed at any time through a simple process that includes verification by Foundation staff that the request adheres to the donor’s intent.
Community Grant Program
Each year the Foundation Board of Directors funds a Community Grant Program from directed contributions. Community proposals are sought March-April annually. The Board reviews proposals in May and announces final awards in June.
