American Cancer Society Relay for Life 2013
Attend the 2013 Whidbey Island Relay for Life
North Whidbey Middle School
67 Northeast Izett Street
Oak Harbor, Wash.
Friday, May 31 to Saturday, June 1
Nearly everyone knows someone who has had cancer. On May 31, honor cancer survivors and remember those who have been lost by joining fellow Whidbey Islanders in Oak Harbor at the 2013 Relay for Life, a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.
Whidbey General is honored to care for island residents coping with cancer. For more than 20 years we have sent a team to the event where, in addition to fundraising, we host an information booth where you can learn about early detection and prevention of common cancers. Hospital staff and supporters raised nearly $3,200 at the 2012 Relay.
Hospital staff and supporters will join other Relay teams and take turns walking or running around the track at North Whidbey Middle School. The Relay is an overnight event, with many participants camping on location.
The opening ceremony takes place at 6 p.m. on May 31 and the Relay concludes at 1:30 p.m. the following day.
You’re invited to join or financially support the Whidbey General team in the fight against cancer. Every dollar raised moves us closer to the American Cancer Society vision of a world with less cancer and more birthdays.
Regardless of the role you choose, we look forward to seeing you at the Whidbey Island Relay for Life May 31!
