Paul A. Zaveruha MD

General surgeon Paul Zaveruha, MD, has provided surgical care to thousands of island residents since joining Whidbey General’s medical staff in 1982. His broad experience includes surgery to treat trauma, cancer and conditions of the abdomen, bowels and lungs. “Doc Z,” as he is known, has been Medical Program Director for our Emergency Medical Services since 1985. In that capacity he consults 24/7 with paramedics and EMTs as they respond to medical and trauma emergencies. After serving eight years as hospital commissioner, Dr. Zaveruha returned in 2012 to fulltime focus on providing high quality clinical and surgical care at Whidbey General.
